Most smartphone cameras have around 30mm focal length equivalent to full frame cameras. 30mm focal length is not ideal for a close-up shot on solar eclipse but shooting solar eclipse with foreground may create a good solar eclipse landscape shot. To get a proper exposure on the Sun (during totality) and foreground, exposure bracketing may be useful to capture more details.
I am not staying at the places where total solar eclipse will occur, but this is the bracketing setting on Camera FV-5.
Multiple exposures from bracketing can then be combined in PhotoShop to create a high dynamic range image.
